The Company: The Center for Discovery is designated as a Center of Excellence in New York State. We serve children and adults with a diverse array of complex disabilities including medical frailties and Autism Spectrum Disorders. The Center offers day and residential school services, adult day habilitation and residential opportunities, as well as out- patient services through the Discovery Health Center. Some of the nation’s leading researchers are engaged with The Center, measuring and codifying strategies that work here, which advances our understanding of best practices. We are a vibrantly successful program that encourages people with intellectual and physical challenges to defy expectations, while evolving new models for living.
The Position: We’re looking for a Physical Therapist with an energetic, enthusiastic, flexible demeanor.
- The Center offers the opportunity to be part of a team (regardless of experience), supported and mentored by experienced clinicians.
- Design and implement physical therapy programs to help each individual develop to their fullest potential.
- Use innovative and creative techniques to enhance the function and quality of life of the individuals that we treat.
- Participate as an active member of the trans-disciplinary team involved in the comprehensive intervention program for each individual.
- Instruct and share programmatic information with Center staff as well as other medical professionals
- Unique opportunities for participation in ongoing research or development of projects in areas of interest

Education: Bachelor /Masters/Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
