Reporting to the Head of Participation, this role will involve providing a diverse and engaging project, focused on youth development, community engagement and social impact across Hull.

The Community Development Officer will incorporate regular active sessions as well as mental health workshops into cricket and other sports programmes for refugee and local youth groups.

About You

We are looking for people who meet the below criteria:

  • Experience with leading and delivering safe, structured and enjoyable sports/cricket coaching in schools, clubs or local communities with an outcomes-based approach
  • Experience of working with and engaging young people, minority ethnic communities, faiths and people from lower socio-economic groups
  • Understand how engagement in sport can positively impact wider social and community issues
  • Awareness of relevant sport and community programmes, agencies and initiatives
  • Previous experience of working closely with key partners to achieve goals and targets
  • Previous experience of delivering projects within an equity, diversity and inclusion framework
  • An understanding of safeguarding and health and safety relevant to the needs of the role
