Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Hybrid in Southampton (Monthly office visits)
Employment Type: Full-time

ALTEN UK is looking to onboard 2 Electrical Design Engineers with strong AutoCAD Electrical expertise for an exciting new vessel project within the marine domain. This role offers flexibility with only periodic on-site requirements and the opportunity to work on a highly dynamic and evolving system.
Responsibilities:
- Produce electrical schematics and detailed diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical
- Support early-phase system design and documentation under evolving technical requirements
- Collaborate with systems integration teams to develop communication and DC power systems
- Contribute to marine-specific design considerations, with a focus on serial, fibre, coax, and networking technologies
Qualifications
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Minimum Bachelor\’s degree in a related Engineering field (or Military experience considered)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience using AutoCAD Electrical (AutoCAD training preferred)
- Strong background in electrical drafting/design, particularly within marine environments
- Experience with 24V DC power systems and communications integration
- Comfortable working with incomplete system definitions and frequent design changes
- Familiarity with system-level design from architectural inputs is highly desirable
