Business Development Executive
ID Logistics maybe relatively new to the UK market but we are backed by over 20 years of experience across the globe. We are an ambitious bunch and 2025 is already kicking off with some exciting opportunities. We are looking for a Business Development Executive who can match our passion and drive and is keen to build their career as we build and scale our business.
About you
You will ideally have experience working in a similar role where you have worked to identify and pursue new business opportunities within the 3PL market. Not only will you be great at conducting market research to assess industry trends, competitor offerings, and market gaps, allowing the company to expand and remain competitive but you will be brilliant at building your network and supporting the customer relationships.
Key responsibilities:
·Develop and maintain long-term relationships with existing and prospective clients.
·Act as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their logistics needs and offering tailored solutions.
·Provide excellent customer service, responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and managing expectations.
·Support the development of compelling proposals and presentations to potential clients.
·Work closely with the solution design, business development and operations teams to create customised logistics solutions.
·Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network and stay updated on market developments.
·Provide market insights and client feedback to help shape service offerings and long-term business strategies.
·Track and report on sales performance, lead generation, and client acquisition.
·Monitor KPIs and sales targets, adjusting as necessary to meet company goals.
·Prepare regular reports for senior management on business development activities and outcomes.
·Keep up to date with the latest trends, regulations, and technologies in the logistics industry.
·Promote innovation in logistics services, working with internal teams to adapt offerings to meet evolving client needs.
Your skills and experience
- It is likely you will have experience in a business development or sales role within a logistics supply chain business.
- Understanding of logistics operations, supply chain solutions, and industry trends.
- Strong sales acumen with a proven track record of identifying and closing new business opportunities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and build rapport with clients.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand client needs and provide effective solutions.
- Experience using CRM systems and proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- You may also have, although not essential experience of managing multiple projects and clients simultaneously.

This is a full-time onsite position based from Northampton with some requirement to travel for clients visits and events
In addition to the basic salary and working for a growing business which can offer various opportunities for long term development and growth, we are also offering a bonus / commission package for this position along with other benefits such as Healthcare and a car allowance. This will be linked to key performance indicators of your role.
