Overview
Post Doctoral Fellow – Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at Clemson University MBA Programs. Location: 106 Earle Hall. Open Date: Jun 06, 2025.
Responsibilities
- Propose research questions, hypotheses, and work plans in a rigorous and organized manner independently. Communicate information timely and effectively with PIs, collaborators, and other lab members, and be receptive to feedback and team-agreed suggestions.
- Execute confirmed research plans in a safe, rigorous, transparent, and timely manner. Set research priorities with the PI, communicate progress, results, uncertainties and obstacles proactively. Operate or quickly learn to operate instruments for materials synthesis, characterization, and reaction studies. Perform initial troubleshooting during instrument downtime and coordinate with university facilities or vendors as needed. Travel to national laboratories for collaboration on a monthly basis.
- Generate formal technical reports in a rigorous, organized, and timely manner to clearly communicate research ideas and results. Revise drafts per coauthor input and support the PI in grant writing.
- Serve as a role model for graduate, undergraduate, and high school students in time management, scientific and educational support, experimental operations, and workplace ethics.
- Contribute to creating and maintaining a safe working environment for oneself and colleagues.
Qualifications
- Required: PhD by Summer 2025 in engineering and physical science disciplines. US citizenship is preferred due to collaboration with DOE national labs.
- Preferred: Proven research experience in thermo-, electro-, and/or electromagneto-catalysis, including catalyst synthesis, reaction studies, and advanced characterizations.
