Job Details

  • Position: Teaching Assistant – Grade 3
  • Hours per week: 31 hours (term time only plus 2 INSET days)
  • Location: Cawthorne CE (VC) Primary School, Taylor Hill, Cawthorne, Barnsley S75 4HB
  • Start Date: 01.09.2025
  • Contract: Fixed term until 31 August 2026
  • Salary: Grade 3, £24,790 to £25,183 pro rata
  • Working hours: 8:50 am – 3:30 pm (6 hours 10 minutes per day)
  • Closing date: Monday, 3rd June 2025, 12:00 noon
  • Interview week: commencing 9th June 2025

Role Responsibilities

The appointed Teaching Assistant will support children’s learning as directed by the class teacher, assist in daily classroom organization, and supervise children during lunch times. The role requires a passionate approach to inclusive education, building positive relationships with staff, pupils, and parents, and establishing effective learning behaviors.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade A-C, including English and Maths, or equivalent
  • Desirable: Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Experience working with children with Speech and Language difficulties or delivering speech programmes is advantageous
