The Vacancy
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join Hymans Robertson Personal Wealth as a Financial Coach within our growing retail advice team on a fixed-term basis. This role can be based in any of our offices: Edinburgh, Glasgow, London, or Birmingham.
You will join a start-up team (backed by a large, 100-year-old parent company), aiming to build an innovative and disruptive guidance and advice service to improve financial wellbeing through the workplace. Our mission is to enhance financial security for people of all ages and wealth levels.
We seek a candidate driven by a desire to deliver positive outcomes for clients. As a new team with ambitious growth plans, you should be flexible and proactive in providing your input. Collaboration within a team environment is essential.
You should be an experienced financial coach or working towards becoming a regulated financial adviser, seeking to develop your client and presentation skills. Excellent interpersonal, communication skills, confidence with clients, and high technical knowledge are required.
What will your role look like?
Financial coaching offers an affordable way for professionals to focus on individuals\’ financial situations, helping them progress towards greater financial security. Hymans Robertson Personal Wealth delivers financial coaching to employees via workplace programs and educational workshops.
You will be a strong communicator eager to develop presentation skills for large audiences, with a focus on improving individuals\’ financial wellbeing. Whether an experienced coach or aspiring adviser, you will develop your client skills in a coaching environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Proactively coaching clients and managing relationships through meetings and communications.
- Assessing clients’ basic financial circumstances and current provisions.
- Operating within guidance boundaries and adhering to compliance standards.
- Upholding our client-centric values and culture.
- Creating guidance materials for client portals.
- Supporting outreach activities, including webinars and seminars for large employers.
- Ensuring compliance with disclosure and data privacy requirements.
- Contributing to business growth by sharing expertise with team members.
- Staying updated on financial products, legislation, and training requirements.
Qualifications and skills needed:
- Attained or working towards RQF level 4 qualification.
- At least 1 year of experience in financial services or 3 years in another industry.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and listening skills.
- Comfortable presenting to groups.
- Ability to explain complex information simply.
- Good numeracy and IT skills.
- Knowledge of Intelligent Office / Intelliflo is preferred but not essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
