Job Title: Band 6 Occupational Therapist – Children\’s Therapy Services Location: Leyland House, Lancashire Business Park, Centurion Way, Leyland, PR26 6TY Trust: Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust Area Covered: Chorley & South Ribble (community-based) Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 08:30-16:30 Assignment Type: Full-Time Band: 6 Placement Type: Locum – Community Paediatrics Rate: £26.60 Role Summary: Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust (LSCFT) is seeking an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join their community paediatric service based at Leyland House. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload of children and young people requiring assessment, treatment, and intervention in home, school, and clinic settings across Chorley and South Ribble. Key Responsibilities: Assess and treat children aged 3-18 with motor coordination difficulties, sensory processing issues, and complex developmental/neurological conditions. Conduct assessments using standardised tools and department-specific paperwork. Provide postural and equipment assessments, environmental adaptations, and functional evaluations. Complete triage conversations with families to determine appropriate levels of service involvement. Engage in telephone consultations to establish family priorities, set goals, and deliver advice/resources. Deliver care in a variety of settings including schools, clinics, and family homes. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, education providers, and families. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to service development where appropriate. Client Group Includes: Children with DCD, ASD, ADHD and co-morbidities Children with rheumatological issues affecting hand function Children with behaviour that challenges – environment-focused interventions Children with neurological or genetic conditions requiring equipment and postural review Assessment Tools/Documentation: BOT (Bruininks-Oseretsky Test) DASH (Handwriting assessment) VMI (Visual-Motor Integration) Oxford 24/7 Postural Management tools Risk assessments, triage forms, and clinical observation records Essential Requirements: HCPC registered Occupational Therapist Minimum 2 years post-registration experience in paediatric OT Proven community-based experience with the relevant clinical group Excellent communication, documentation, and multidisciplinary working skills Access to own transport for travel across the local area (desirable) Eden Brown Synergy is an equal opportunities employer.
