Our OEM Client based in Coventry, is searching for a Test Engineer to join their team, Inside IR35. This is a contract position until 31st March 2026. Umbrella Pay Rate: £27.03 per hour. You’ll deliver excellence by providing engineering support to all Power electronics testing on inverters and E-machines. You will be in direct technical engagement with, University academia and 3rd party engineering teams supporting your Lead Engineer in the understanding of test requirements in detail. As part of your role, you will ensure the effective preparation of Units Under Test, routine operation of test beds, programming of test cells & ensure proper installation and instrumentation of the unit under test. Through our purpose, vision, strategy and transformation, you will show your engineering skills, behaviours and competencies in all you do, contributing to supporting the facility operate for customer groups. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities: Understand customer test requirements and execute the test cases with the requested test data. Operate the key dyno test facilities on dynamic customer requirements with maximum test bed utilisation Understand diverse test methodologies and configure based on test bed capabilities. Analysis of test data and evaluation of findings to provide solutions and move the test activity forward. Data-driven diagnosis using software tools and rectification of issues, engagement of support teams to facilitate resolution. Planning, scheduling and execution of several test requirements from different stakeholders and customers. Coordinate and guide a small team of technicians to complete the preparation, installation and commissioning of the unit under test. Support cross-functional meetings and improvement projects with various stakeholders Adhere to quality standards to ensure all equipment meets required standards. Adhere to Health and Safety guidelines and provide a safe working environment for all staff. Create, review and improve single-point lessons and procedures for others to follow. Create, review and update project and activity Risk Assessments. Identify working practices that can be modified/improved to operate more safely and more efficiently. Engineering Hygiene through 5S methodology. Essential Skills Required: Fundamental knowledge on inverters, e-machine operations and power electronics. Basic knowledge of automation and data acquisition systems. Experience in rig/laboratory-based technical test and evaluation processes in the field of Power electronic systems. Knowledge of test methodologies and facility operation. Ability to understand electrical circuits and diagrams. A detailed understanding of electrical/mechanical measurement techniques. Electrical and Mechanical skills and knowledge. Excellent computer skills, including Data Analysis through software tools. Structured and Logical approach to Problem Solving. Presentation and Communication skills, including the ability to create schedules, present information to others and organise concurrent activities. Understanding of Health and Safety, Risk Assessments and other related regulations. Commitment, flexibility, self-motivation, robust, clear communication. Desirable Skills Required: Degree Level Education in an Associated Subject. Experience or knowledge on AVL PUMA, ETAS INCA, Vector CAN systems. Knowledge of hybrid and Battery electric vehicles. Awareness of high voltage systems. A detailed understanding of electrical/mechanical measurement techniques
