Job Description
The Senior Project Planner will work on high profile defence construction projects in Catterick Garrison, providing performance reporting and analysis support.
This may be part of a large team or as the key day to day contact point with the client. Key activities include:
- Ensure that schedule related data from vendors, suppliers, engineering and construction contractors of actual projects is provided as feedback into the planning and scheduling systems;
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the schedules produced, maintaining independence as a planning engineer when advising on issues requiring judgment;
- Ability to balance multiple projects executed in multiple locations and by multiple contractors;
- Track and monitor portfolio schedule;
- Prepare the integrated planning/scheduling contribution to the Monthly Project Report and specific reports/presentations;
- Analyse and highlight the overall schedule impact of any variance/change order;
- Prepare resourcing plans for the overall and individual project phases, identifying any excessive peak numbers and making recommendations for peak levelling.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a project planning environment within construction industry is required.
- Applicants will ideally be degree educated, with previous industry & sector experience being essential.
- Previous experience of Oracle Primavera P6 is essential.
- Applicants will also require excellent written and verbal communication skills, be rigorous in following documented processes and governance and be able to demonstrate the ability to innovate in creative ways to meet the challenges of the changing project environment.
