Real Estate Lawyer – Agriculture | International Firm | London

An elite international law firm is seeking an Associate to join its market-leading Agricultural Real Estate team in London. This is a rare opportunity for a solicitor with a passion for agricultural land and landed estates to build a long-term career in one of the most respected real estate practices in the UK.

About the Role:

You will join a dynamic, collaborative team advising a broad range of UK and international clients – including private landowners, family offices, trustees, aristocratic estates, institutional investors, and UHNW individuals – on the acquisition, management, and strategic development of rural property assets.

The role offers a varied and high-quality caseload, including:

– Acquisitions and disposals of large rural estates, farms, equestrian properties and country houses
– Succession planning and the management of multi-generational estates, often involving trusts, tax structures and heritage assets
– Advising on agricultural tenancies, farm business tenancies, grazing licences, contract farming and share farming arrangements
– Supporting clients on inheritance tax planning, including APR/BPR reliefs and strategic structuring of ownership
– Providing advice on diversification projects such as glamping, eco-tourism, hospitality ventures, and commercial development
– Advising on renewables projects (solar, wind, battery storage), forestry and land promotion
– Navigating complex issues such as rights of way, access, restrictive covenants and environmental schemes (e.g. ELMs)
– Working closely with the firm\’s tax, private client and planning teams to deliver integrated advice across property and wealth
– Supporting landowners with land registration, estate restructuring and preservation strategies

Candidate Requirements:

– Qualified solicitor in England & Wales (1-5 PQE), with strong real estate training
– Experience or a strong interest in rural estates, agriculture, or landed property law
– Commercially minded with excellent technical and drafting skills
– Confident communicator with the ability to build trusted client relationships
– Strong academic credentials and a collaborative approach
