To assist in the ordering and stock control of consumable items and equipment including receiving orders and maintaining the rotation of stock

Responsible for the purchase and maintenance of equipment and being the point of contact for maintenance contracts.

To generate and organise kit/PPE orders for staff and students and monitoring the renewal of contracts including laundry

To organise the taking of key deposits for lockers and distribution of lockers to students

Regularly communicate with Health and Safety officer and be responsible for the administrative tasks associated with Health and Safety. In particular the writing and updating of high-quality risk assessments and completing walk throughs with internal and external Food and Hygiene/FSA/ Health and Safety Officers.

To prepare materials and set up equipment for use in practical and commercial sessions.
Skills/Experience:

To give practical assistance to staff in the department and assist students in a supporting role when practical sessions/commercial activity are in operation.

To undertake assessments and the necessary supervision of students

To carry out instructions and demonstrations on the proper use of equipment, ensuring that safe working practices are adhered to at all times

To assist in departmental administrative tasks which could include trips and visits.

To maintain good housekeeping standards in the working areas, including cleaning and tidying kitchens and work areas and ensuring all equipment is satisfactorily cleaned and reporting any defects found

To make occasional purchases and collect consumables which are required for lessons
