Location: Barrow / Warton / Rochester as preferred (2 days a week onsite) Duration: 12-month contract Pay rate: £63.76 per hour umbrella / £55.35 per hour PAYE (inclusive of holiday pay) Overview As a Principal Engineer Systems Engineering (IV&V), you will be performing a host of system engineering and design activity for the execution of the IV&V strategy. This will involve a broad spectrum of tasks involving the design and setup of the IVV facilities and capabilities (Test Rigs) along with supporting the test programmes through to system certification. These activities are pivotal in supporting the design, development, integration and qualification of complex systems for in-build or in-service vessels. Responsibilities Understanding and interpreting challenging needs and requirements. Design and compilation of technical specifications to deliver capabilities in supporting the IV&V strategy. Developing, validating and managing requirements designs along with qualification/acceptance activities Integration and test of systems containing electronic, mechanical and software sub-systems, understanding the potential impact on the whole boat and interfacing systems Taking accountability for technical work packages and C&I equipment Verifying that customer needs are satisfied through planned qualification and test activities Steering test systems development through implementation of best practice systems lifecycle processes Providing leadership, guidance and coaching to other engineers Working with customers to support delivered systems and resolve issues Skills and Qualifications Understanding of relevant engineering standards, including safety and environmental regulations Significant proven ability in Systems Integration, Validation, Verification and testing activities of complex products and systems Degree level qualification in relevant STEM subject JBRP1_UKTJ
