Global Change Facilitator – Fill Finish

Fully Remote Role

Established in 2004, BioPhorum is a business-to-business membership organisation that has created an unparalleled environment for life science companies and executives, to collaborate and accelerate progress across the sector.

The company uses a subscription model and has created 11 highly targeted “Phorums” (forums) with tailored content across multiple areas including Drug Substance, Drug Development, Fill Finish, Technology Strategy, Supply Chain Resilience, IT, Data and Digital, Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products, Quality, Regulatory, and Sustainability. BioPhorum’s expert facilitators currently lead more than ninety initiatives involving over 7,000 subject matter experts.

BioPhorum has built a diverse and extensive client base of over 150 organisations, including 18 of the 20 largest global (bio)pharmacos. Beyond pharma, BioPhorum has also built relationships with other types of life science organisations, including those that provide services across the outsourced value chain (e.g., CDMOs), and academia.

Over the last year, BioPhorum has established an exciting growth strategy, launched its first data product and completed an acquisition. Further growth opportunities are being planned in both the core Phorum business as well as adjacent markets. Against this backdrop, BioPhorum is looking to hire a Global Change Facilitator.

The Role

Overview

Global Change Facilitators (Facilitators) are integral members of Phorum teams and BioPhorum more broadly. The role facilitates outcomes from BioPhorum’s member workstreams in a consistent ‘One BioPhorum’ way, identifying value and delivering outputs derived through our collaboration model and intended to address, improve and change specific areas across the (bio)pharma industry. Working with their broader Phorum team members, a Facilitator will create an environment where subject matter experts work together, sharing best practice, developing industry guidance and benchmarking and improving performance. The role brings together elements of project management, the scientific method, creative thinking and stakeholder engagement in order to guide a Workstream team towards clear outcomes, while continually adapting to the evolving needs of the team in order to steer the group to the outcome. Success in this role requires a strong bias to action paired with ability to be flexible.

Main Responsibilities

  • In close collaboration with your direct and broader Phorums teams, facilitate, lead and guide a portfolio of workstreams, using both your experience and tools to develop and define workstream topic areas as approved both by the Phorum L2 Leadership Team and BioPhorum as per BioPhorum governance approach, drive workstream member engagement and deliver high quality outcomes which represent the collective voice of the stream
  • Using your knowledge, know-how and relationships with workstream members, create engaging, highly collaborative workstream meetings which draw-in members and create a sense of community
  • Through strong organisational skills, your experience leading and managing projects, guide your workstreams to deliver on their intended outcomes in line with the group’s agreed timelines
  • In collaboration with your broader Phorum and events team, lead and facilitate both in-person and virtual events, building strong connected sections, segments and modules that ensure the events deliver on their purpose and demonstrate value and return on investment for members and attendees
  • In close partnership and collaboration with your workstream members, define the deliverables that will positively impact member organisations and the broader industry, including publications, proof of concepts, business cases, and conference presentations; define the value potential of the deliverable from the outset
  • Using internal systems and processes, monitor the engagement of workstream members, identifying quickly where issues or patterns are emerging and work with other Phorum team members to address and mitigate
  • Ensure BioPhorum systems and supporting materials are managed, maintained and updated to support the ongoing delivery and management of the Phorums and member outcomes; systems can include Dynamics, The Hub, QBR presentations, management summaries, tenders
  • Actively participate in the surfacing of value stories from within the workstreams and other Phorum activities which demonstrate the value being generated through the collaborative process
  • Regularly share feedback and member insights back into your Phorum team and broader BioPhorum to ensure member satisfaction

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Degree-level education or experience working within in a life science, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, with demonstrable experience and working knowledge of these sectors, including Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO) and/or consulting services within these spaces
  • Strong and highly effective stakeholder management skills, able to take a group on a journey, adapt communication styles, influence, build strong working relationships and continually adapt in order to move the group along without ‘losing people’ along the way
  • Can demonstrate enjoyment for the collaborative process such as initiating constructive dialogue, drawing out information from people, ordering thoughts, prioritising information and forming solutions
  • Effective at synthesising information, taking sometimes large highly complex topics, points and information and presenting these back in a way that is easily digestible terms using plain language in order to facilitate change across the industry
  • Experience in managing projects or change programmes within life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and/or CDMO organisations; able to structure work into clearly defined terms and mapped to an agreed timeline. Can demonstrate when to apply the appropriate governance practices based on a given situation
  • A team player, enjoys working with colleagues in the spirit of continuous improvement, able to give constructive feedback and receive it. Acts in a mature and professional manner with both members and colleagues
  • Can demonstrate good judgement, able to make decisions based on the available facts at hand, take advice in order to arrive at a decision; able to take the necessary steps to act on this decision and deliver at pace
  • Is able to work within iterative environments, enjoys the process of incremental improvement while ensuring an objective is delivered as agreed
  • Able to work within a remote working environment, can identify the challenges that come with being remote and can demonstrate how they’re able to adapt to this style of work e.g., proactively engaging with their manager and colleagues with intention, appreciates the need to adapt communication styles depending on the work tools being used e.g., chat vs email, vs video vs face-to-face
  • Is comfortable working in a fast-paced growing environment, able to remain nimble as the organisation changes and adapts in order to evaluate growth opportunities and scaling
  • In support of the Phorum, assist with account calls as required

Location

This is a home-based role, with expected travel within the UK and internationally to participate in member events, internal meetings and other ad hoc business meetings.
