Howdens Joinery has an exciting new opportunity in the Cloud Team. We are looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer to design, develop, test, and deploy solutions to improve collaboration and productivity of the development teams by automating infrastructure, workflows, and continuously measuring and improving application performance.
Our Cloud team is based in Northampton, and we welcome applications from candidates seeking either full-time or part-time hours (minimum 30 hours per week).
Responsibilities:
- Create, maintain, and deploy secure, high-availability, fault-tolerant systems via on-premise and cloud-native architectures for development, testing, and production environments.
- Develop and maintain solutions for operational administration, system/data backup, disaster recovery, security, and performance monitoring.
- Deploy and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments to maximize efficiency and enable daily deployments.
- Develop policies, standards, governance, and guidance for teams using CI/CD pipelines.
- Design scalable infrastructure and systems in collaboration with architects.
- Coordinate with Release Managers for release planning and deployment activities.
- Support container-based solutions using Kubernetes and Docker for Azure Cloud.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in Azure Cloud, IaC (Terraform), Kubernetes management, Azure DevOps or similar GIT platforms, cloud security, and connectivity.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools (Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Azure).
- Proficiency with containerization and clustering technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Experience building automated CI/CD pipelines with tools like SonarQube, Fortify, Selenium.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Desirable skills:
- Azure Active Directory, API Management, Cloud Monitoring, CDN (preferably Akamai), High Availability strategies.
