Behaviour mentor – Blackburn – ASAP start, We are currently looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant to deliver person centred support to individuals who present high levels of complex needs and challenging behaviours associated with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum conditions and mental health problems. You will be working in a school and supporting children and young people who need 1:1 support for multiple reasons, such as:
Children in Looked After Care
Anxiety
Exclusion
Speech and language difficulties
Physical and mental health issues, disabilities and learning difficulties
Do you have a passion for working with children with SEMH or PTSD?
Are you strong with positive behaviour management?
Do you hold a valid driving licence and willing to obtain business insurance?, Some experience working with children and young people who display challenging behaviour
Experience of de-escalation training would be advantageous
The school would also consider candidates from youth work backgrounds, or similar roles
Confidence to make decisions
Excellent communication and the ability to build positive relationships with the students
Empathy and understanding
Willingness to enhance skills with professional training and development, Hold Right to Work in the UK
Be eligible to work full time in the UK
Hold an enhanced child & adult barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
