Senior Product Manager – Memory

The Role:

The Senior Product Manager will play a key role in discovering quality products, testing them, negotiating on price, deciding order quantities based on forecasts and stock levels, working with marketing teams to promote the product, and sales teams to sell it. You will define and expand the range, and work with Suppliers, Marketing, E-Commerce, and Sales teams to bring the product to market.

Main Job Responsibilities:

  1. Manage Solid State Drive (SSD) and enterprise server product portfolios
  2. Collaborate with the Sales Team to work with value added resellers, data centres, and other enterprise customers
  3. Utilise tools to analyze order and sales data to understand product performance and stock levels
  4. Monitor product costs and negotiate with suppliers for best pricing and terms
  5. Identify new sales opportunities and oversee product data feeds for accuracy and competitiveness
  6. Develop understanding of new products, technologies, and market trends through supplier visits
  7. Evaluate new suppliers for quality and competitive advantage
  8. Liaise with customer service, sales, and technical teams to resolve quality issues
  9. Develop strategies to respond to market competition
  10. Set price levels and lead-time guidance for sales teams
  11. Train sales and marketing teams on product features and technical support
  12. Establish go-to-market strategies and lead product launches
  13. Use sales data to develop forecasts
  14. Build relationships with vendors for product roadmaps and market innovation
  15. Monitor shipments and lead-times, communicating delays promptly

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years’ experience with storage solutions, including SSD and enterprise server/data centre products, within distribution, reselling, or specifying roles
  • Strong commercial understanding of end-user requirements and new technology delivery in data centres and enterprise markets
  • Excellent knowledge of memory products, trends, and market dynamics
  • Experience collaborating with digital and e-commerce teams for marketing and sales
  • Experience in inventory planning and demand forecasting
  • Proven ability to negotiate and set pricing strategies
  • Proactive, responsible, innovative, and willing to challenge the status quo
