Data Analyst / Data Scientist
We are looking for an experienced Data Analyst / Data Scientist to join our dedicated project team working on an ambitious multi-year initiative involving consumer information.

ABOUT THE TEAM
You will join a collaborative and experienced project team tasked with delivering a strategic roadmap focused on consumer information. The team’s work spans from detailed data analysis and coding, through to designing logic and processing that address complex business challenges, and ultimately supporting product development.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The successful candidate will play a central role in building the foundations for this multi-year strategic project. You can expect to work on a diverse range of projects with significant ownership — from in-depth analysis of data sources and problem solving, to designing and coding solutions that solve complex business problems.
In the early stages, the emphasis will be on establishing robust processes and data-driven insights to support future product development.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Take ownership of key building blocks in the strategic roadmap: understanding data sources in detail, carrying out analysis to solve business problems, coding solutions, and working with the tech team to implement and test.
- Collaborate with, and learn from, industry subject matter experts in analytics, tech, and product to deliver impactful outcomes.
- Maintain data quality and accuracy across all projects and deliverables.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Essential Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in the UK consumer credit industry in a hands-on analytical role.
- Excellent SQL and Python skills (including Pandas).
- Strong understanding of data sources used in credit decisions, including data shared with and returned by credit bureaus.
- Good knowledge of UK regulatory frameworks (including FCA guidelines) governing the credit industry and data processing.
- Clear, open and logical communication skills.
Desirable Skills
- Familiarity with cloud services, including data storage, processing, and analytics tools (AWS preferred).
- Experience with data warehouse architectures and data governance best practices.
- Previous use of common tools, e.g., Git, Jira, Unix environments.

- Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
