Key Responsibilities:

Job Purpose

The Senior Advisor, Education Strategic Partnership and Resource Development provides global leadership to strengthen strategic partnerships, thought leadership, and resource development for increased education and child wellbeing impact. The Senior Advisor will lead, coordinate and implement the team’s external engagement strategy enabling collaboration across World Vision fundraising offices and teams. This role will ensure that WV is represented by subject matter experts in key forums, selected networks, associations, and boards aligned with Education strategic objectives and actively positions WV as a NGO of choice with key partners, multilateral agencies, businesses, donors and other stakeholders. The Senior Advisor will monitor opportunities and support external event engagements annually leading on the development and dissemination of thought leadership content, communications and advocacy that meaningfully contributes to most vulnerable children’s learning and development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Define Priorities and Forge Strategic Partnerships

  • Develop and successfully achieves external engagement and resource development strategy for education
  • Strengthen and expand strategic partnerships (including multi-stakeholder partnerships and networks, UN partnerships, global donors, multinational corporates and faith actors.)
  • Maintain oversight and coordinates of WV’s Education external engagement and resource development activities.
  • Contribute to positioning WV to attain strategic and thought leadership recognition within the global sector that lead to increased income, influence and impact.
  • Identify shared objectives and initiatives with Global Capitals
  • Develop alignment with A&EE (including on global policy positions)
  • Provide advice for global policy agenda and campaigns as per the Partnership strategy.
  • Identify key external influencers and networks to promote and inform future programme direction including faith networks.

Provide Global Stewardship and Build Capabilities

  • Support the global education resource development strategy providing expertise, and actively positioning WV as an NGO of choice with key donors and stakeholders.
  • Develop coordination mechanisms for effective engagement across WV fundraising offices and teams for increased resource acquisition from education sector donors.
  • Lead and/or facilitate technical support to enable competitive and high-quality proposal submissions for major grants in education
  • Bring to bear evidence of Education’s contribution to Child Well-Being (CWB) in internal and external relations for advocacy and resource acquisition.
  • With A&EE and Capabilities team, develop Education External Engagement and Resource Development resources, tools, and learning solutions to enrich understanding and strengthen external engagement and resource development capacity in education.
  • Identify and build capacity of subject matter experts to effectively represent education externally.

Lead and Coordinate External Engagement

  • Relationship development and management of key global platforms and partners in the sector.
  • Support global campaign and other global ministries.
  • Ensure that external engagement tools and processes (as developed by A&EE) are integrated into sector practice and vice versa.
  • Support Partnership Strategy strategic imperative on partnering and collaboration.
  • Represents WV in selected networks, associations, and boards as appropriate, to ensure WV is at the forefront of the global sector debate.
  • Lead and coordinate effective external engagement and representation by subject matter experts in virtual or face to face conferences, networks, multi-lateral events, international days, etc. anchored in a strong communications strategy.
  • Lead coordination and ‘sign-off’ processes of WV-led and/or joint advocacy statements with partners.

Ensure Visibility, Accountability, and Reporting

  • Ensure appropriate and effective use and dissemination of evidence of results from WV’s Education work with relevant external stakeholders, networks and events to position WV as a thought leader and partner of choice
  • Develop and implement external communications strategy, organizing external events as appropriate to position WV as a thought leader in education
  • Manage partner reporting requirements, such as to the Global Partnership for Education, Global Refugee Forum, Education Cannot Wait, where WV has stated commitments.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE

Required Education, training, license, registration, and/or Certification

5 years-experience in positions focused on forging strategic partnerships, grants, and external engagement functions and/or advocacy.

Required Professional Experience

Master’s degree in education or similar social development/international development field, and/or public policy, communications.

Required Language(s)

Excellent English written and verbal skills; additional languages – especially French and Spanish preferable.

Required travel and/or work environment accommodations
