Our Distribution Testing department focuses on testing performance of packaging in distribution for a range of products to help reduce waste to create a more sustainable future. We provide and design bespoke tests for the packaging formations, generating scientific understanding and advice for optimum solutions for our clients.

We are seeking a Test Engineer to join our Distribution Testing department who wants to develop their skills and progress within a successful and growing global business.

Main responsibilities:

  • Detailed application of test standards, generating test worksheets and recording of test results accurately.
  • Utilize sound knowledge and understanding of underlying scientific principles to deliver high quality testing of packaging.
  • Participate in training, develop further technical skills and troubleshooting skills. Contribute technical development of other team members.
  • Coordinate and plan collaboration from other team members where project requires additional input.
  • Establish effective communication with clients, suppliers and engineers on testing and equipment performances.
  • Support project managers through all stages of the project, including development of proposals and reporting results.
  • Provide clarity and interpretation of results, process challenges and queries for Project managers.
  • Review reports before they are issued to clients.

Person specification:

  • B Eng (or equivalent) in Physics/Materials or substantial relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Minimum of 3 years testing experience preferred but not essential if a relevant degree is held.
  • Desirable to have demonstratable skills in overcoming problems, displaying knowledge and understanding, determination and stamina.
  • Desirable to have knowledge of vibration, shock, temperature and humidity testing, and their applicability to different products.
