A bit about the role.

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead our newly formed Strategy & Payments team. You’ll take product ownership of how we launch and scale across 10+ markets, enable seamless omnichannel experiences across DTC and retail, and improve the way we take payments and support customers.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll guide product strategy and support day-to-day delivery. You’ll collaborate with friendly and talented teams across engineering, operations, and customer love to make a meaningful impact for our business, our customers, and their dogs.

We know the best product work happens when people feel safe, supported, and clear on what matters. If you\’re looking for a thoughtful, mission-led company where you can make things better every day, then we’d love to meet you.

Your remit will span across multiple areas of our business. You’ll be responsible for:

International Expansion of the Platform

  • Owning the product workstream for all international launches. This includes adapting our platform to local needs while keeping things scalable and efficient.
  • Working cross-functionally to localise payment flows, pricing logic, logistics integrations, and customer experiences.
  • Supporting the growth of our retail footprint (including Butternut Box & Marro in Pets at Home) and enabling future partnerships across new geographies.
  • Helping unify our online and offline experiences, ensuring customers get the same, high-quality Butternut Box experience wherever they shop.
  • Managing integrations with payment providers and customer invoicing systems.
  • Ensuring our billing infrastructure is accurate, compliant, and ready for scale.
  • Monitor payment success rates and own the product roadmap to keep improving it.
  • Working with the Customer Love team (that’s what we call Customer Service) to continuously improve internal tooling like Intercom and Active Admin, so our team can support customers with speed and empathy.

A bit about you.

  • Has 4+ years of experience in product (or relevant roles like strategy, consulting, or commercial) with a strong track record of shipping impactful work in fast-moving environments. Note we care more about impact than time served.
  • Can move between strategy and execution with ease – one hour you\’re writing a business case, the next you\’re triaging an incident or writing a JIRA ticket.
  • Thinks commercially and deeply understands how product decisions ladder up to growth, margin, and customer retention.
  • Has worked closely with engineering teams and knows how to run great agile sprints, scope work clearly, and makes pragmatic decisions.
  • Has B2C experience, ideally in e-commerce or retail, and understands the complexities of real-world logistics, payments, and customer service.
  • A calm, clear communicator who values structure, context, and collaboration across lots of different geographies.
  • Thrives in ambiguity and genuinely enjoys building things from scratch.
  • Experience with retail operations, POS systems, or payment providers such as Stripe and PayPal.
  • A background in subscriptions, marketplaces, or omni channel brands.
  • Familiarity with internal tooling or customer support platforms like Intercom.
