PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To lead audio technology development projects within PlayStation Studios and provide end to end audio solutions to game teams and platform stakeholders. Drive best practice and own quality and delivery of larger scale cutting-edge audio technology features. Liaise with multiple external departments to foster relationships and drive external audio technologies.
Typical projects are;
- Scheduling, overseeing and directly building tech features used on multiple game titles simultaneously.
- High level collaboration with other game production departments and platform teams
- Developing workflows to be used by external departments such as sound and music
- Working with management to improve department functionality

- Overall delivery of audio technology for department, studios and platform.
- Technical support for more junior team members.
- Future development of audio systems to be used on multiple projects.
- Driving external audio technology development.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 7 -10 Years front line console/PC development experience and or plugin/DAW development
- In depth knowledge of all game systems including streaming systems, multithreading, physics, IO, AI, animation etc etc.
- Plugin and UI development experience
- Passionate about audio and video games
- Expert in C++ and object orientated design
- Experience of C#, Python, LUA or other scripting languages
- In depth knowledge of 3D mathematics
- In depth knowledge of acoustics and digital signal processing
- In depth knowledge of audio middleware (FMOD, Wwise)
- Experience in DSP and plugin design
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred, but not essential:
- Experience of graphical patching environments (PD, MAX/MSP, Reaktor)
- Experience of collaboration with multiple internal departments
- Management experience
