Description of the assignment
Radiation dose measurement, assessment, and recording as part of an Approved Dosimetry Service, based in Caithness.
Nuvia provides Approved Dosimetry Services for internal dosimetry, external dosimetry, and record keeping.
This role offers an exciting and challenging variety of science-related work with a clear career path, including opportunities to participate at national and international levels in the field of radiation dosimetry.
The position is based on the Dounreay site near Thurso.
Profile
Degree in a relevant subject such as physics, biology, or mathematics, or other science subjects incorporating physics or biology. Some knowledge of radiation physics is an advantage.
Alternatively, relevant experience providing an equivalent knowledge level.
Our dosimetry offices and laboratories are located at key sites in Oxfordshire, Dorset, and Scotland. We provide services to licensees and tenants on former UKAEA sites and clients in the nuclear, industrial, and security sectors. Currently, we support over 200 clients, with approximately 5,000 workers subject to dosimetry monitoring.
Our managed and integrated dosimetry packages are tailored to each client\’s needs, utilizing the most appropriate technology, systems, and proven processes to achieve optimal results.
