Job Title:Territory Manager & Professional Consulting Veterinarian
Job Purpose
- The TM & PCV has various roles providing technical support to the veterinary profession and the sales team therefore you are continuously seeking to increase knowledge of nutrition and veterinary medicine to effectively engage and communicate with internal teams and external audiences.
At the same time you are a commercial champion driving sales in your assigned territory You provide a direct interface with veterinary professionals at the practice level to ensure the highest levels of veterinary endorsement for Hill’s brands to ensure optimal execution of the Hill’s strategy Ensure Hill’s is the strategic partner of choice in the assigned territory and gain professional and business support to grow Share of Market and Sales.
- You serve as a technical liaison, consulting, coaching and training Territory Managers in Ireland on the Nutritional topics in order to be best in class in the Vet Industry
- You will be responsible for helping drive veterinary nutrition growth through relationship building and influence of veterinary specialists, key thought leaders, healthcare teams and veterinary students, increasing awareness, recommendation and sales of Hill’s products.
What You Will Do
Territory Management
- Achieve territory sales targets
- Plan and execute call value (coverage, frequency, productivity) for the territory, based on clinic classification and required activities.
- Timely report calls and maintain records for the territory
- Review clinic/store potential for the territory (every year)
- Promptly identify new sales locations and secure strong presence and endorsement for Hill’s brands
- Maintain accurate records in the Hill’s reporting system, e.g.
- all veterinary practices/pet stores in the territory
- all professional and administrative activities
Business Development
- In partnership with our customer development team, develop and grow relationships with key opportunity customers, including key thought leaders, referral centres, and corporate veterinary practices in the region. Drive nutritional and brand awareness and engagement via core strategies including WSAVA’s 5VA elements and nutritional seminars to support commercial objectives.
- Provide best in class professional support (detailing, in-clinic/in-store seminars, technical meetings, trainings, merchandising), reaching all key stakeholders in specified practices/stores
- Identify opportunities in the assigned clinics and develop technical and business propositions that meet the needs of both Hill’s and the customer, resulting in BRMO leadership and superior 6P’s execution in clinic.
- Implement commercial activities to ensure:
- Awareness, full distribution and active endorsement by the veterinary profession of Hill’s products and services in all core disease categories.
- Full distribution, excellent visibility and active endorsement by the staff of Hill’s products.
- Rapid acceptance, endorsement, support and distribution of new products
- Establishment of shelf space, visibility and adequate inventory within each clinic
- Establishment of merchandising and practice protocols to Hill’s Perfect Clinic standards
- Increase recruitment of new users of Hill’s brands (e.g. trial programs)
Nutritional expert
- As the nutritional expert for Hill’s Ireland uphold the highest professional standards of understanding of small animal nutrition, Hill’s and competitor products. Be the external voice of of Hill’s whilst equally upskilling the knowledge and understanding of the rest of the Irish team
- Provide face to face and virtual coaching, training, support and mentoring to Territory Managers in Ireland on technical nutritional skills, product knowledge, and veterinary practice management and relations. Develop a technical tailored and personalised training program for all members of the Irish team to ensure their nutritional knowledge and in-clinic delivery is best in class, aligning training needs with PVA UK
- Participate in joint call days to veterinary practices and provide training for in-clinic seminar delivery.
Scientific Relations
- Provide professional support to veterinary schools in Ireland Including seminars, virtual learning and engagement activities, and other ways to drive nutritional engagement and Hill’s brand awareness among future veterinary professionals. Recruit and manage the student reps in covered universities.
- Provide professional support at regional veterinary meetings and congresses including practice management events as requested by the Veterinary Affairs Manager or Sales Manager.
- Deliver information on Hill’s products and services through excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
- Maintain the highest professional and ethical standards whilst representing the company.

What You Have
- Current veterinary licence and clinically competent
- Clinical and Small Animal Consultation experience
- Previous sales experience in field sales, veterinary industry, FMCG, pharmaceutical company or Nutrition Company and/or 3+ years of small animal clinical practice experience.

- Proficient computer skills in Gsuite, and ability to learn company specific tools & programs
- Fluent in English
- Valid driver’s licence required
