Scopely is looking for a Build & Release Engineer to join our talented and ambitious team in either Ireland, Spain, Portugal or the UK on a hybrid/remote basis.

We are in the early stages of development on an ambitious, unannounced Strategy/MMO title, creating a team of talented and passionate game makers to join us on this exciting journey

What You Will Do

Provide technical guidance and support to development teams related with build and release of Unity 3D games and supporting CICD pipelines

  • Ensure the stability, security, reliability of the execution and operation of build pipelines that support the development of all areas of the game
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including game development, QA, operations and the management team to drive effective communication, collaboration and stakeholder management
  • Development of automation tools and processes targeting reproducibility of procedures and development efficiency
  • Monitoring, auditing and reporting of the Build systems and processes, by incorporating observability and alerts through all CICD lifecycle and infrastructure
  • Participate code reviews, development processes related with CICD pipelines and automation tools to improve the effectiveness of engineering team members

What We’re Looking For

Highly experienced in a build and release role, with solid understanding of software build and release processes, including CI/CD best practices, specifically for Unity 3D games

  • Professional experience and high proficiency in programing languages and scripting for automation (i.e. python, bash)
  • Experience with observability tools (ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog) to monitor and alert CICD stability
  • Experience with version control systems, such as Git, and build management tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Maven or Gradle
  • Knowledge of Unity integrations in CI systems, experience with languages such as groovy will be valuable
  • Professional experience using Infrastructure as Code tools, bonus for use of Terraform / Terragrunt / Packer
  • Professional experience using public Cloud systems to provision resources to support build and release development and processes, preferable AWS
  • Professional knowledge of Docker as well as integration of container orchestration technologies for CICD pipelines (AWS ECS, AWS EKS)
  • Able to troubleshoot compute and execution environments in different platforms and operating systems, understanding of networking, security concepts
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps principles and practices
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling productive collaboration with team members, peers, and management
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment that embraces change and innovation
  • Experience in the gaming industry, especially with Unity 3D game development and release processes, is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with processes for automated testing and automating workflows
