I\’m currently working with an independent Geotechnical and environmental consultancy that\’s well-established in the North East and continuing to grow. They\’re looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with 5-12 years of experience to join their team in Sunderland.
The company works across a range of sectors including residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. They\’re known for providing cost-effective, practical engineering solutions and have a collaborative, supportive team culture.
What You\’ll Be Doing
·Delivering Phase 1 desk studies – including site walkovers, desktop research, and preliminary risk assessments
·Managing and contributing to Phase 2 site investigations
·Writing high-quality geotechnical and geoenvironmental reports
·Interpreting field and laboratory data to develop clear and concise recommendations
·Collaborating with junior engineers and project managers to deliver on deadlines
·Liaising with clients and regulators as needed (note: you won\’t need to sign off reports)
What We\’re Looking For
·5-12 years\’ experience in geotechnical or geoenvironmental consultancy
·Strong track record in report writing for Phase 1 and Phase 2 studies
·Confident working independently and as part of a team
·Comfortable with UK geology and ground investigation techniques
·Full UK driving licence – access to a vehicle is ideal, but mileage is also reimbursed
·Degree qualified in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, environmental science or similar
