Lead Technical Services Manager
An established design and build fit out contractor operating across London is seeking an experienced Lead Technical Services Manager to join its senior delivery team. The business delivers high quality commercial interior projects and is known for its collaborative approach, strong technical capability, and consistent performance in fast paced, design led environments.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, this is an opportunity to take ownership of the MEP design and delivery across multiple prestigious fit out projects in Central London. As Lead Technical Services Manager, you will manage building services from preconstruction through to practical completion, supported by a team of Technical Services and MEP Managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall MEP strategy across assigned fit out projects, from design development through installation, commissioning, and handover
- Act as the primary MEP point of contact for clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
- Chair and lead MEP coordination and design workshops to ensure technical compliance and seamless integration
- Review and approve technical submissions, drawings, specifications, and O and M documentation
- Drive the MEP programme in collaboration with planning and project delivery teams
- Support procurement through technical input, tender reviews, and subcontractor selection
- Oversee commissioning, testing, seasonal commissioning, and final handover processes
- Manage technical change control and respond to complex services related RFIs
- Mentor, support, and lead Technical Services Managers, Engineers, and site based MEP teams
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 10 years\’ experience delivering MEP packages, ideally within a main contractor or design and build fit out environment
- Proven experience delivering commercial refurbishments or high specification fit out projects in constrained or live environments
- In depth technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, public health, BMS, and specialist systems
- Strong understanding of MEP coordination across architectural and structural interfaces
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated leadership across preconstruction, construction, commissioning, and handover phases
Desirable but Not Essential
- Membership of CIBSE, IET, or Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status
- SMSTS, CSCS Black Card, or First Aid certification
- Experience using BIM and digital coordination tools such as Revit, Navisworks, Asta, or MS Project
- Degree, HNC, or HND in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering
