We are currently looking for Mechanical Fitters for maintenance work on a construction products factory.

Tasks would include general mechanical/electrical work including planned maintenance activities on our production lines to support our maintenance team.

Applicants must hold a valid NVQ and experience in a similar role

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Fitter to join our team. As a Fitter, you will be responsible for assembling, fabricating, and welding various components to create finished products. This role requires a strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to work with power tools and hand tools. If you have experience in sheet metal work, welding, and fabrication, we would like to hear from you.

Duties:
– Assemble and fabricate components according to engineering drawings and specifications
– Weld components using various welding techniques, including stick welding
– Use power tools and hand tools to cut, shape, and finish materials
– Perform basic mathematical calculations to ensure accurate measurements
– Inspect finished products for quality and make any necessary adjustments or repairs
– Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area

Experience:
– Previous experience in assembly, sheet metal work, welding, or fabrication
– Proficient in using power tools and hand tools
– Strong knowledge of welding techniques, including stick welding
– Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations
– Mechanical knowledge to understand engineering drawings and specifications

  • Full time role (approx. 40 hours a week) for at least 3 months ideally on shift rotation:-

    Week 1 = 6am – 2pm

    Week 2 = 2pm – 10pm
