Job Description Summary

GE Vernova’s Power Conversion business provides electrification systems that are critical to customers’ power and energy needs for high-performance applications. We collaborate with major energy, maritime, and industrial organizations to enable energy efficiency and decarbonization through our motors, drives, and control technologies.

Role Summary

We seek an experienced Lead Power Systems Commissioning Engineer to work with a leading manufacturing company. Reporting to the Field Engineering Resource Manager, you will lead commissioning tasks across Marine and Offshore sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, pre-commission, commission, and document power-related tasks safely, in accordance with instructions, for hand-over to customers.
  • Proven experience in HV/LV plant and systems commissioning.
  • Perform switching operations, manage permit to work, sanction to test, and access limitations on large projects.
  • Produce and maintain documentation to required standards.
  • Install and check cabling, switchboards, circuit breakers, contactors, transformers, UPS, generators, and motors.
  • Commission and fully integrate Automatic Voltage Regulators (AVR), switchgear, and digital protection relays, including fault finding on various equipment.
  • Commission PC/PLC protection and power management systems, tuning, fault diagnosis, and setting, in collaboration with customers and suppliers.
  • Create commissioned documentation in line with company quality and safety standards (e.g., BS EN 18001, Lloyds Register, DNV).
  • Maintain competence through training and e-learning as per company policies.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or similar.
  • Familiarity with IEC and marine classification rules.
  • Ability to pass offshore survival training.
  • Clean international Driving License.
  • Proven record of site work.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Customer-focused attitude.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience with PC/PLC equipment.
  • Health and Safety trained.
  • Record of HV/MV training and operations.
