We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a leading EPC contractor specializing in utility-scale solar projects. This position is an opportunity to develop your career with an organization which is on an enticing trajectory.
The business designs and delivers large and complex solar projects, manage the entire project lifecycle, working with top-tier contractors to deliver on-time, on-budget solutions. We prioritize safety and quality and are dedicated to driving innovation and sustainability within the renewable energy sector.
This role is based in Dallas, at company HQ, and requires experience an Electrical Engineering degree plus electrical design experience of 50 MW US-based solar projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and oversee electrical systems for large-scale photovoltaic plants, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct engineering calculations and analyses using software tools such as Excel, SKM, and ETAP.
- Utilize AutoCAD for electrical design, focusing on power distribution and medium to low voltage systems.
- Prepare technical specifications for equipment and installation, including scope of work for subcontractors and suppliers.
- Perform cable pull tension calculations and analyze constructability and functionality of engineering plans.
- Collaborate with owners, engineering teams, and suppliers through meetings and on-site visits to ensure project compliance.
Your Skillset
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 5 years of experience in large-scale photovoltaic projects.
- Professional Engineer license is preferred.
- Proficiency in CYMCAP and PVsyst software.
- Strong knowledge of electrical design principles and practices, particularly in photovoltaic systems.
- Experience in preparing Bills of Quantities and Bills of Materials.
