Senior-Associate Director – Heritage Consultant
Location: Home and Site-Based (Travel Expenses Covered)

A dynamic, multi-disciplinary consultancy is seeking a Senior-Associate Director – Heritage Consultant to join a specialized, small-but-growing heritage team. The consultancy works on a wide range of projects, from small residential developments to large-scale solar and commercial ventures. The role involves close collaboration with other sectors within the business to deliver successful project outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to help expand the heritage team, foster new client relationships, and contribute to the growth of the business by identifying new streams of work.

The successful candidate will manage the delivery of projects and engage with clients and project teams from feasibility through to the appeal stage. Responsibilities include providing expert heritage advice, preparing key heritage documentation such as Heritage Impact Statements, Advice Notes, and Appeal Statements, and serving as an expert witness when required. This role offers the flexibility of remote working, with travel to sites as needed.

Qualifications & Experience Required:
– Proven experience as a Heritage Consultant, ideally at a senior level.
– Ability to provide heritage advice at all stages of the planning process (feasibility, pre-app, application, appeal).
– Experience in preparing Advice Notes, Heritage Impact Statements, ES chapters, and Appeal Statements.
– Strong client-facing skills and experience in building and maintaining client relationships.
– A track record of contributing to business growth by identifying new contacts and opportunities.
– Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams on diverse projects.
– Flexibility for travel and site visits.
