We\’re working with a growing, design-led building services consultancy based in Oxford who are looking to strengthen their team with a Mechanical Design Engineer who can hit the ground running. The Oxford office is led by two hands-on Directors with a strong pipeline of projects across higher education, laboratories, renewables, decarbonisation, and BMS refurbishments.
They\’re not your typical consultancy. They give their engineers the time and space to engineer, supported by CAD specialists. They\’ve tripled their income over the last six months and offer genuine opportunities for fast-tracked progression based on merit, not tenure.

Key Responsibilities:
·Take ownership of mechanical designs from RIBA Stage 1 through to Stage 4 and beyond
·Translate briefs into high-quality design solutions with minimal supervision
·Collaborate with other M&E engineers, CAD technicians, and external stakeholders as needed
·Support junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of internal standards
·Get involved in sustainability-led schemes including low-carbon solutions and retrofit projects
What They\’re Looking For:
·Around 2-4 years\’ experience in mechanical design within a building services consultancy
·Solid understanding of RIBA design stages, particularly stages 1-4
·Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of your workload
·Ambition to develop technically and professionally, including client-facing skills over time
·IES experience is a plus, but not essential
·Ideally degree-qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
