The role.

The role reports to the Junior Financial Controller and is responsible for end-to-end management of Transactional Accounting including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions of the business, acting as a partner for business owners.

Day-to-day responsibilities.

  • Driving improvements of transactional and billing processes with several cross functional teams including Finance, Procurement & Sales.
  • Lead the automation of AP/AR processes within Netsuite including PO implementation, automatic bank feeds and providing insightful reporting.
  • Establishing relationships with business owners helping to promptly sort out queries they may have with any customer and supplier issues.
  • Overseeing the end-to-end AP/AR process from supplier and customer onboarding, to invoice processing, approvals and payment runs.
  • Full reconciliations of AP and AR ledgers including system matching, ageing review and vendor and customer management.
  • Responsible for inter-company transactions reconciliations and daily cash transfers, working closely with the Treasury department including FX transactions.
  • Ownership of all credit cards transactions and employee expenses process.
  • Assisting with audit queries relating to all these processes.
  • Direct line management of the Accounts Payable Assistant.
  • Proven experience in Transactions, AP/AR function, preferably in a start-up or rapidly growing organisation
  • Experience with Netsuite is critical
  • Being able to critically evaluate the existing processes, suggest improvements and implement within the business
  • Ability to quickly build relationships with both business owners and external parties
  • Excellent communicator who is comfortable leading the transactional services function
  • Great team player working within the Finance function
  • Proficient at Excel including v-lookups and pivot tables
  • Comfortable with multi-currency transactions
  • Understanding of UK VAT rules including reverse charge
