I\’m working with a well-established consultancy in Bristol that\’s actively looking to grow its civils capability – and they\’re on the hunt for an experienced Principal or Associate Civil Engineer to lead the charge.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys a client-facing role, thrives on responsibility, and wants to play a hands-on part in shaping a team. You\’ll be joining a collaborative office with a strong regional presence, delivering an exciting variety of projects across sectors like residential, education, healthcare, heritage, and community infrastructure.

What They\’re Looking For:
·An experienced Civil Engineer (degree-qualified) with a track record of delivering a broad range of infrastructure projects from start to finish.
·Someone who can confidently manage clients, lead project teams, and oversee resource allocation and delivery across multiple schemes.
·A strong technical background, particularly in highway (S278/S38), drainage (private and adoptable), earthworks, and external level design – including 3D analysis.
·Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or PDS, and MicroDrainage / FLOW.
·Someone with experience mentoring and managing engineers, who\’s comfortable leading from the front.
·Knowledge of FRA, UK standards, CDM regulations and good practice in civil engineering design.
·A commercially aware individual who can take full ownership of project delivery, budgets and schedules.
What You\’ll Be Doing:
·Leading the design and delivery of projects across various sectors – including residential, education, health and public realm.
·Managing and mentoring staff while supporting the long-term development of the civils team.
·Overseeing all aspects of project delivery – including technical design, site feasibility, budget and resource planning.
·Liaising with clients, architects, developers, and contractors to deliver coordinated and buildable designs.
·Taking responsibility for ensuring work meets relevant standards and securing approvals from relevant bodies.
·Acting as a key contributor to the office\’s future growth, bringing ideas, energy and leadership to the civils discipline.
