Overview of the Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for an RF Design Engineer to play a key role in the research, development, and testing of advanced radio-frequency technologies for use in complex and demanding Defence systems. The role focuses on hands-on RF design, rapid prototyping, and practical board-level testing, supporting high-performance product development in challenging environments.
This is a highly collaborative role for someone passionate about RF engineering and looking to make a tangible impact in next-generation technology.

What We’re Looking For
- Strong hands-on experience designing and testing RF circuits across a wide frequency range (30MHz to 30GHz), including:
- LNA and high-power amplifier design
- Filters, synthesizers, local oscillators, modulators
- Experience with RF designs intended for harsh environments (e.g., EMC, vibration, thermal constraints)
- Comfortable conducting proving tests and trials in a lab setting
- Skilled in soldering, debugging, and using RF test equipment such as Spectrum Analysers, VNAs, and Power Meters
- Good understanding of supporting electronics (digital, analogue, power supply)
- Familiarity with RF design tools like Microwave Office
- Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, including DFM and DFT
- Strong communicator, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts and results in both written and verbal formats
