This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and approachable Group Tax Manager to take the lead on all aspects of tax compliance and advisory activities across our UK and North American operations and ensuring a consistent approach across the wider Group. What you will do to be successful in this role
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will be the central point of contact for tax matters in the business, working closely with colleagues, advisors, and investors to ensure we meet our obligations and make the most of available reliefs and credits.
- Lead the Groupβs UK, US, and Canadian corporation tax compliance, from quarterly instalment calculations to reviewing tax returns for submission.
- Coordinate R&D expenditure credit claims.
- Carry out periodic reviews of indirect taxes, payroll taxes, and other areas such as US sales and use tax.
- Oversee transfer pricing activities, from preparing master and local files to reviewing subsidiary documentation and management charges.
- Act as the main point of contact for tax queries, working with advisors to obtain and interpret guidance where needed, including working with advisors on M&A projects.
- Support improvements in processes to mitigate tax risk, ensure compliance, and optimise reliefs.
- Qualified ACA, CTA, or equivalent, with experience in tax within large or international groups.
- Strong knowledge of UK corporation tax and a broad understanding of other taxes (e.g. indirect and payroll taxes). Experience with US and Canadian tax would be great, but not necessary.
- Confident problem-solver, able to interpret rules and provide clear, practical advice.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to collaborate with colleagues and external advisors.
- High level of accuracy, organisation, and motivation to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
