A forward-thinking secondary school in Gateshead is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team and work with students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a full-time role where your presence and support can make a significant impact on a student’s education, well-being, and future. Role Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with SEMH needs. Assist in managing challenging behaviour with a calm, proactive approach. Help pupils access learning by adapting resources and strategies. Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams. Build strong relationships with students based on trust and consistency. Maintain accurate records and contribute to support plans and reviews.
