As a Higher Apprentice – Technical, you’ll embark on a journey to understand the technical and quality control aspects of our manufacturing processes. Working closely with site operational teams, you’ll learn about the production of aircrete blocks, focusing on raw material management, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.

This apprenticeship will give you exposure to client-facing responsibilities, allowing you to collaborate with internal departments and customers alike, and explore production processes across concrete, aggregate, asphalt, and building projects.

Role Responsibility

In this role, you will:

  • Focus on the technical and quality aspects of manufacturing aircrete blocks at the site level.

  • Provide support to the operational team and central Quality Management System with routine quality assurance and control testing.

  • Manage and test raw materials to ensure compliance with target specifications.

  • Train and support operational colleagues in business quality requirements, ensuring they can control and manage quality standards.

  • Perform strength and density testing to ensure compliance with standards and deliver excellent customer service.

  • Develop and monitor continuous improvement programmes, improving quality and efficiency.

  • Analyse statistical data from manufacturing processes to identify and eliminate quality issues., * Gain hands-on experience and technical expertise in quality control and production processes while working towards a Level 4 qualification.

  • Core Skills Graduate Development Programme: After your first year, you’ll join an 8-module programme designed to expand your business knowledge, enhance soft skills, and support your career progression.

Educational Requirements

You must have:

  • 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (grades A-C or numbered equivalent 9-4).

  • PLUS one of the following:

  • A Level: DD or above.

  • BTEC National Diploma: PPP or above.

  • Access to HE Diploma: 21 Merits or equivalent.

  • Level 3 Apprenticeship in a related subject.

  • Equivalent Level 3 Qualifications worth 64 UCAS points.
