A great opportunity for a Software Project Lead to join us at our Bolton site; developing and delivering innovative solutions from an established portfolio of software technologies!
Salary: up to £74,000 depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working: typically 4 to 5 days per week on-site, due to workload classification
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship
Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:
Simulation Software UK work to deliver the MBDA UK test capability in partnership with colleagues across the business and other areas of Software Engineering. The Software Project Leader is responsible for the delivery of software development projects from initiation to completion!
The Software Project Leader play a crucial role in ensuring project success by coordinating the efforts of multi-functional teams, managing and owning budgets, project timelines, quality and delivering software solutions that meet customer requirements. This involves accountability for authorising software releases; negotiating scope to fit schedule/budget and inputs into the Time Now Update reporting for the project.
You will combine your technical knowledge with your project management skills to drive project execution, facilitate effective communication, and ensure project goals are achieved.
The Software Project Leader is the Software Design Authority and the Work Package Manger and is accountable for the cost, quality and schedule aspects of the activity.
What we\’re looking for from you (essential):

Proven Programming knowledge and hands-on experience of software development and the software development lifecycle.

You will have significant experience of successfully leading engineering teams and know how to motivate and guide people to deliver great results.

Experienced in managing schedules, budgets, and conflicting priorities, to ensure successful project delivery; keeping things on track in terms of time, cost, and quality.
Beneficial but not essential:

Experience with ADA or C++

Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines

An understanding of how simulation and modelling support testing and development.

A background or understanding of systems engineering practices.
