The role

The desired Cover teacher will be working in schools around the St Austell area classes of around 30 students, with a wide range of ability levels. The role of a General cover teacher within a school is to support learning and manage the classroom in the absence of the Subject Teacher. A general cover teacher would be utilised in all aspects of the school to cover across a multitude of subjects and would be expected to provide good quality teaching and learning in the absence of the subject teacher.

The desired candidate will have experience of teaching within secondary education, in their trained subject, hold QTS and be adaptable within their practice.

To be considered for the position of General Cover Teacher, you will:

  • Have experience teaching within a secondary school.
  • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of cover staff.
  • Recent relevant referenceable experience of teaching within secondary schools.
  • Have received a QTS certificate
