Established global organization specializing in the manufacture of steel construction products requires an experienced Maintenance Engineer.
Your role as a Maintenance Engineer will be;
- Carrying out routine / scheduled maintenance work and responding to equipment faults
- Ensure that equipment is in good working order so as to prevent disruption of production activities. Dealing with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs.
- Diagnosing breakdown problems, fault finding root cause. Fitting new parts and ensuring equipment is working correctly.
- Arranging specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings or components at competitive prices and where necessary obtaining authorisation for spend.
- Ensuring there is a continuous cover of the machinery and equipment in case of breakdowns
- Controlling maintenance tools and equipment. Maintaining engineering store stocks, help define critical spare requirement.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in metal fabrication / manufacturing environments and be familiar with relevant capital equipment such as Roll Forming, Shearing Machines, Press Brakes, Panel Benders, Punch Presses, Guillotines, Stamping Machines etc
Experience on PLC\’s, preferably Siements S7 and SIMATIC, Inverter and DC drives. A sound knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical systems. PU dosing sytems, Automated Packaging Equipment and Overhead Cranes.
The role will suit individuals currently working as Maintenance Engineer and be living within a commutable distance of Manchester or be willing to relocate.
