Du Pont (U.K.) Industrial Limited, where the globally recognised Kevlar yarn is manufactured, are seeking an experienced Engineer f/m, to be based in Maydown, Derry / Londonderry.
The successful candidate will be an integral part of a team dedicated to leading continuous improvement initiatives, driven by evidence-based analysis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Comply with company Safety, Health & Environment standards, and procedures.
- Develop and problem-solve processes to support the manufacture of Kevlar yarn applications. Monitor and manage process variables to achieve efficient production.
- Lead & participate in front-end loading of capital projects.
- Lead & Participate in Process Hazards Analysis (PHAs) for existing or new processes.
- Apply knowledge of the Line of Business (LOB) technology to define and implement solutions for Process Safety Management (PSM), Grow and Improve projects.
- Lead & provide technical support for Root Cause Analysis investigations.
- Provide day to day support to operations
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- BEng degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (e.g. Chemical/ Mechanical/ Mechatronic or Manufacturing)
- 5 years demonstrated process engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Legal right to work in the UK, without the requirement for DuPont to act as a Visa Sponsor
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
- Practical working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
- Experience working in polymer/chemical processing environment
