Advanced Quality Engineer

What will your responsibilities be?
- To ensure that all Advanced Quality Requirements are met for New Model Launches as per the Adient “PLUS” (Product Launch System) including: –
- Ensuring Control Plans are prepared to meet Prototype, Pre-Production and Production requirements
- Completion of Appearance Manual to relevant Customer Standards
- Ensuring all gauging is validated and verified for production usage
- Ensuring all relevant Measurement and Capability data is conducted and data evaluated
- Ensuring IMDS compliance across all BOM items
- Conducting all Supplier APQP activities necessary in order to achieve Supplier PSW Approval
- Ensure Suppliers are conducting necessary DVP&R activities as part of PPAP
- Ensuring “Grain Go” and “Colour Harmony / AAR” events are held with the customer / supplier for approval of relevant components.
- Obtaining Supplier PPAP Approval
- Working with all necessary Adient Departments in order to generate the contents of the Customer PPAP
- Conducting all necessary communication with Customer in order to obtain
- Customer PSW Approval
- To be part of the Simultaneous Development Team (SDT) and be responsible for communication of all Quality deliverables to this SDT.
- Ensure all Customer documentation requirements for each Build Phase is developed and actioned – liaising with JIT Management for obtaining relevant JIT resource to meet this requirement.
- Full support within JIT Plant during each New Model build phase and, in conjunction with JIT Plant Quality Manager, ensuring that all Quality deliverables are achieved.
- Conducting Supplier Visits in order to determine status against APQP deliverables and to ensure that Supplier processes are approved to meet Adient expectations
- Ensuring that Adient CCSC is conducted to ensure that ALL Critical Characteristics (CC) are fully controlled within JIT facility – from definition of CC’s as per DFMEA and Drawing through to Poka Yoke verification within the Production facility
- Assure that customer and internally identified quality issues are resolved using the Adient problem solving methods (8D Report, Problem Solving Document “PSD”, PCAD, Kepner-Tregoe, etc.)
- Ensure that all Quality activities are performed in accordance with the latest Adient BOS, IATF16949 and Specific Customer Requirements.
- To present Quality Project status at both Internal Launch Readiness Reviews (LRR’s) and External Customer Reviews
Which qualifications are we looking for in potential employees?
- BSc / BEng. degree is required or equivalent experience
- Specific education and training in Quality disciplines including minimum IATF16949,
- Continuous Improvement, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control plans, DOE and SPC
- Minimum 4 years in the Automotive Industry
- Minimum 2 years in Quality area
- Knowledge of the AIAG Quality Manuals (APQP, PPAP, MSA, FMEA etc)
- Manufacturing Quality system experience and customer communication activities
- Certification in Quality Engineering a plus.
- Lead or Internal auditor training to IATF16949 (TS16949) desirable
- Fluent English
- Willingness to travel
