Job Description
The HVAC Commercial and Industrial Assistant Project Manager will assist with planning, organizing, and directing Mechanical Services (HVAC/R, Plumbing, Electrical) field activities. They will be responsible for achieving overall corporate objectives at the department level. The role involves scheduling, coordinating, and supervising craft and service employee activities. The assistant project manager will liaise with customer contacts and subcontractors regarding project details, scope, and specifications, and assist with or complete Mechanical Services estimates.
Essential Job Functions
- Assist with planning, organizing, and staffing suggestions.
- Assist with planning and supervising work activities, including determining construction methods, manpower, materials, equipment, temporary power sources, work schedules, and documenting hours worked.
- Assist with overseeing foremen, purchasing, and stock functions.
- Monitor work quantity performed by staff and collaborate with Project Manager and Company President to develop standards and procedures.
- Maintain liaison and support other departments and units as required.
- Monitor compliance with safety programs, document issues, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Mentor Project Development Coordinators, Project Managers, and foremen.
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid PA driver’s license.
- Equivalent combinations of technical training, related experience, vo-tech training, college degree, or similar experience.
- Minimum 5 years in construction, with leadership experience.
- Knowledge of construction disciplines, cost control, scheduling, safety regulations, and ability to read drawings.
- Working knowledge of electrical codes, with updates every 3 years.
- EPA Universal Certification required.
- Master Plumber\’s License preferred.
- Ability to supervise and evaluate craft performance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
