We are looking for a trend driven experienced Assistant/Junior designer, looking to push the denim category further within Womenswear. This role will be working with our supplier based in the Next head office – Next Sourcing who have a wealth of experience and work at a high pace. This is a really great opportunity for someone looking to design for Next womenswear within the denim category.

For anyone in the design field – this is the place to learn. To grow. And to thrive., You will support with design research, sketching and wash boards. Assisting with illustrator sketches, tech packs and design presentations. Market trend and shopping research under the guidance of the senior designer. Reviewing samples & washes with the guidance of the senior designer and feedback to respective teams. Log in, organise, maintain and chase samples. Build on key relationships with NS territory teams and buying team., You would be joining an amazing team whose enthusiasm for trend, design and elevation is the main focus. This role will support the Women’s Senior Denim Designer on multi-product, while also assisting the wider design team across the brand where needed. The team design and develop new ranges, taking responsibility for everything from trend prediction to design concept through to technical development and product selection.
We would love you to have a degree within Textile Design, Fashion Design or a similar discipline, Experience & knowledge in Womenswear Denim Design, fabric, washes, laundry finishes, sample construction, is desirable. Strong presentation and communication skills, you will be capable of working well with other team members and building productive relationships. Highly organised, self-motivated, dynamic; you will be able to proactively manage a wide range of responsibilities throughout the design development process. Agility with the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment is also important. A strong interest in denim fashion and awareness of trends, with a feminine aesthetic and attention to detail. Confidence within the Adobe suite is essential for this role.
