Role Description

Lead Writer, German

Compelling content is at the heart of every successful digital marketing strategy, and we\’re seeking a passionate and experienced German writer to join our digital performance marketing agency.

The ideal candidate will be confident overseeing content creation for a diverse portfolio of international clients. You\’ll be responsible for managing junior team members, ensuring the highest quality of work, and driving impactful results.

You possess a deep understanding of SEO principles, a keen eye for detail, and a creative mindset that allows you to tailor content strategies to specific market needs.

As part of our collaborative approach, you\’ll work closely with various teams, including digital PR, SEO specialists, and researchers, to deliver integrated campaigns.

NB: location can be Leeds or London.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and mentor junior members of the International Content team.
  • Plan, create, and review workloads for yourself and junior team members, ensuring efficient task allocation and adherence to deadlines.
  • Oversee content creation and editing on your dedicated brands, ensuring all copy meets the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and brand consistency.
  • Conduct content audits and provide recommendations for improving content performance and rankings.
  • Support the creation of content plans, trackers, and timelines, ensuring projects are well-organized and delivered on time.
  • Conduct keyword research and analysis to identify opportunities for content optimization.
  • Support pitches and upsells for clients, contributing your expertise in content strategy and execution.
  • Share local market insights with the wider team to inform content strategy and execution.
  • Collaborate with other teams, such as PR, PPC, Creative and Media, to develop integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates on project progress and building rapport.
  • Brief work to junior team members and partner agencies.
  • Have awareness of budgets and time required on content tasks and campaigns, for both monitoring ongoing work and pricing up new work.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience, ideally within a marketing agency.
  • Fluency in your local language and an excellent grasp of the English language.
  • Proven experience in high-quality content creation and editing.
  • Excellent understanding of digital marketing and SEO principles.
  • Experience mentoring or managing a team.
  • Ability to conduct market research and competitor analysis.
  • Full understanding of the differences between translation, localisation, and transcreation.
  • Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Creative flair, strong organizational skills, and a proactive nature.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Adept at using AI tools to find efficiencies within your ways of working.
