Teaching Assistant – Mainstream Primary Schools

Rochdale

£90-105 per day

Age group: Flexible

Working hours: Monday to Friday (8:30-3:30)

Start date: September (dependant on references and DBS)

Value Education are looking for enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to work at the Primary schools we support in the Rochdale area.

The ideal candidates will have a passion for education, supporting children with additional needs, and be committed to helping each child in the most effective way depending on the individual needs.

Duties:

  • Assist the Class Teacher in preparing work for the lesson ahead
  • Assist with group activities
  • Work with children on a 1:1 and group basis
  • Provide additional support to children with a range of SEN needs
  • Tailor lesson plans to individual needs
  • Work inside and outside the classroom
  • Work effectively under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO
  • Support pupils with personal care needs when appropriate

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year previous experience working within schools
  • Confident in communicating with parents, pupils and members of staff
  • Able to handle difficult situations and behaviour efficiently
  • Experience working with additional needs in a school setting (or similar)
  • A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or recent relevant experience)
