Purpose of the role

To clinically promote J&J Cancer Therapy medicines across prioritised Integrated Care Systems and Cancer Alliance footprints ensuring optimised appropriate patient access.

Your primary role as a Therapy Area Specialist (TAS) will be to lead the business plan for implementation within NHS Trusts and other defined local accounts as agreed with Business Leaders. In Hospital Trusts and other agreed systems, you will deliver specific tactics to support appropriate local uptake of medicines in agreement with your Strategic Access Manager (SAM) and National Sales Manager (NSM).

You will also clinically promote J&J Cancer medicines in wider parts of Integrated Care System to ensure patient uptake of and access to J&J Medicines is optimised. Other ICS system stakeholders could include Primary Care Network (PCN) Cancer customers and/or Cancer Locality Groups dependent on the Strategic Account Plan agreed with your SAM/NSM.

A detailed understanding of NHS Trust health priorities, local NHS Trust Pathways, and the inter-connectivity of the patient journey to other system pathways will be essential for effective business planning & customer engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Promotion & Scientific Knowledge (Licenced Indications ONLY)
  • Drive clinical demand for brands & defined indications through execution of brand strategy & key tactics in-field.
  • Deliver assertive, balanced clinical arguments to influence clinicians and drive prescribing behavioral change. Be an expert in scientific selling.
  • Lead sales tactics within Strategic Account Plans to accelerate uptake & pull through of prescriptions & initiatives.
  • Drive clinical uptake in assigned NHS Trusts through a prioritised approach.
  • Engage with clinical stakeholders across the ICS to promote J&J medicines regarding pathway changes or patient access risks/opportunities.
  • Deliver HCP training and education, ensuring full compliance with J&J codes of conduct & the ABPI Code of Practice.
  • Develop local prescribing advocates and share experiences to wider prescribing community.
  • Maintain expert level of therapy knowledge, product, competitor scientific & business knowledge.
  • Confidently communicate value propositions and operate effectively in a matrix environment.

Business Plan Execution

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage brand value.
  • Maximise sales performance, meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Identify and develop disease state experts and advocates to enhance brand performance.
  • Build trusted customer relationships and develop effective call plans.
  • Use CRM tools effectively and share market insights proactively.

Team Collaboration

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, you will work with colleagues including Therapy Area Specialists, Strategic Access Managers, Medical teams, and Marketing.
