About the role:
We are currently recruiting for a Sludge Stream Engineer to be based at Beckton Sewage Treatment Works. As a Successful candidate, your role will be to deliver a range of technical services required typically through the engineering project lifecycle, and in other operational initiatives and functions. The Engineer for this role is responsible for various process plants, including Centrifuges, CAMBI Thermal Hydrolysis Plant, Steam Boilers, CHP Engines, Presses and all other ancillary equipment, and may also be required to support the Sludge Powered Generator processes when required.
Responsibilities include:
- Assessment of technical information and development of solutions, through the preparation of engineering deliverables such as delivery to task specifications, engineering reports, drawings, specifications and data sheets.
- Delivery of project outputs, as part of multi-disciplinary projects or operational teams, by project or service delivery procedures.
- Delivery of planned statutory and maintenance shutdowns to time, cost and quality.
- Communication of progress and additional resource requirements to the relevant manager.
- Management of statutory regulations and maintaining compliance with plant and equipment.
- In some instances, supervision of a small team is required to ensure delivery against objectives.
- Coaching and mentoring less experienced colleagues.
To be successful, you will have the following skills and experience:
- Engineering degree or minimum City & Guilds Level 2 or NVQ Level 3 in a mechanical, electrical, or control instrumentation maintenance discipline.
- Working towards or achieving a relevant professional qualification and/or membership of a professional institution.
- Typically, two years’ experience in a related role.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Fully competent at using the appropriate Company IT systems and Office software.
