Public Affairs Advisor

Location: Hybrid (London office/Westminster travel, once per week)

Contract: Full-time, 9-month FTC

Are you passionate about influencing policy and shaping the future of health and social care? A leading UK-based professional body is seeking an experienced Public Affairs Advisor to drive forward its campaigning and advocacy work at national and regional levels.

This is a pivotal role for a policy-savvy professional ready to make an impact within a respected and high-profile organisation. We are looking for an immediate starter and it will only be a 9-month Fixed-Term Contract.

As Public Affairs Advisor, you will take the lead on engaging with parliamentary bodies across the UK, from Westminster to devolved administrations and the EU. You will develop and deliver impactful campaigns, provide expert advice to senior leaders, and ensure that the voice of our members is heard where it matters most. You’ll play a key role in shaping policy responses, briefing stakeholders, and representing the organisation on influential committees and forums.

You will be part of a dynamic External Relations team, collaborating across departments and contributing to a shared vision of progressive, evidence-based health policy. You’ll also manage content for our public affairs communications and act as a spokesperson when needed.

We’re looking for someone with proven experience in lobbying, political strategy, and public affairs—someone who understands how to navigate complex policy landscapes and build meaningful relationships. A solid grasp of UK political institutions and a background in health, social care, or a similarly regulated environment would be advantageous.
